First, research different laws and human rights using the links below:

• Wikipedia: Ten Commandments
• Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Then, complete both of the activities below:

1. To what end do we create "laws" such as the Ten Commandments and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights? What if such rules did not exist? How would that affect society?
2. Come up with ten rules or rights that you would adopt if you were stranded on a tropical island. You should also come up with five consquences or punishments that should be followed if someone were to break your rules or rights.
